Roma

My two week trip to Italy was...well...fantastico!!!
I began with a week, solo. I spent three days in Rome first. I had not been to Rome since my Jr. year in college, and do not have great memories of it. It was at Christmas time,we were homesick, wet and cold, and it was crowded. I am so glad I got to go back, because I loved it! The weather was too hot actually, almost 100o a couple of days, and humid, but it was beautiful and sunny. I took two hald day walking tours,of the Vatican, and of the Antiquities.
Beauty abounds everywhere in Rome

Art is everywhere

SEGWAY!!!!!

For my July birthday,my best friend Mary Sue gave me....a Segway tour of the Chicago lakefront!!!We went yesterday, on a perfect summer day...and had a blast! It is really very very fun,and we enjoyed every second of it! We went from Navy Pier along the lake, way down to the Aquarium and Planetarium, and back by Grant Park and Buckingham Fountain.I loved going as fast as I could!Wheeee!!!
On the way back we stopped by a farmers market on Daly Center Plaza...and to see the huge statue of Marilyn Monroe on Michigan Ave. As you can,FYI,she IS wearing undies!!! White cotton!LOL
A wonderful and generous birthday gift.Thank you again,Mary Sue!

PAUL MCCARTNEY CONCERT!!!!!

Last night,a dream came true for me,one that I've had since I was 12 years old!!!Seeing Paul McCartney in concert!!!It was...well...just fabulous. That guy can still rock with the best of them, truly. I was teary-eyed when he sang "Yesterday" for sure! Other favorites included "Blackbird"(did you know that he wrote it about the Civil Rights movement?!?!?!),Hey Jude,Live and Let Die...on and on. Almost a three hour concert,non-stop,in 95o heat and humidity....... He never took a drink once, and only mopped his face one time.A true professional. He is still a major cutie, full of personality, and looks to be in great shape,physically...as well as vocally! He did nice tributes to John and George as
well. It was a night I will NEVER forget!!!

La Vie est Belle à Monaco

Life is beautiful in Monaco...that's how I evolved Elena's pages for the Evolution Journal...Her theme in Under the Sea,and the previous person had written about Life,so this was a nice evolution,I thought! All the edges(last photo) so far look really great!

Serendipity

This week's dream journal prompt was again the the Serendipity mode. We had to use, picked at random by Ali: some inchies, the colors lilac and green, fabric, and work in the style of a famous artist. My fabric is a bit off of an old bridal veil that I found at an estate sale;I did the background in my version of Seurat's pointillism style. My mother used to recite that poem to me all the time when I was little!

Another Time,Another Place

This was the theme for this weeks pages in the soul journal . I used some "reject" tags that I had made for another swap...they were just right for these pages,though...love the alcohol ink technique...had not used that in awhile...

My sister Beth:last pages

For our final pages for this set of journal pages,Ali had us interview ourselves with these 4 questions:
