Bits and Bobs

I love reusing old artwork in a new way! These are some bookmarks that I made years ago for a Paris-themed swap with ArtChix.I wanted to get them out of hiding,so I used my new sewing machine(thanks again,Elena!) to edge them. I drew some funky flowers and sewed on them too. Love the result.

I added some beding on the edge to echo the scalloped paper...
I've been reading Dina Wakley's book Art Journal Freedom, and have started doing some of the lessons inside. Very interesting, easy techniques. Love trying new stuff.
These are Dina's second lesson...I love the dark figure that I wrote on with white pen...I made some circles from antique French book paper, and sewed on them ..I love this color combination that Dina suggested...

The middle of these two pages is a small image I ripped out from a travel catelogue. I knew I wanted to somehow make a wild collage out of it...I was amazed to find some  old Gelli prints in my stash that exactly matched the colors and patterns of the image, plus some Italian gift wrap that I saved from Orvieto...it became a vivid Venetian sunset.
