Marie Antoinette's diary cover and page

Recently in Paris, while excavating underneath La Conciergerie for a new parking lot, construction workers discovered oneof  Marie Antoinette's diary covers and a single, poignant diary page. I have shown them here,in Elena's journal, along with a visual interpretation.

  3. What an exciting find, Sue. I see, from looking at YOUR blog, that we MUST be soul sisters...French is my 2nd language, too. If I wasn't married, I'd spend a year in France IMMERSED in the language and culture. I'd sooo like to be fluent in the language. We love France and anything French!! But your art and the things you do...ATCs, round-robin journals, etc...me too!! Because I can't draw or sketch, my medium is digital, but I love creating art. I look forward to your TRIP REPORT from Egypt!! Safe Travels, Abbyj
