Halloween and Day of the Dead turned into a three day holiday in San Miguel! On Halloween, the kids all dress up and parade around El Jardin, the main square, where mainly ex-pats and American tourists hand out candy. They were all so excited and mostly polite. Nov. 1 was the Day of the Dead for children, and Nov.2 was for adults. All these photos ere taken over the three days. Altars and other decorations were everywhere.
The creepiest witch ever!
Alfeniques,or sugar decorations are quite popular;skulls and sheep seem to be the most popular motifs.

I bought this little guy...a vintage mold for making paper maché skeletons.
